Spanish
FIRST VIDEO REFLECTION
Spanish has impacted my life and my family. Since I started Spanish 1, I have been learning basic conversation between two people and the necessities. I have been wanting to learn this language all my life because my whole family from my moms side speaks Spanish. A dream I have is to be able to speak fluently to my family in Spanish, without using my mom as a translator. I already appreciate how much we have learned so far in Spanish, but I am really hard on myself when I make a mistake. For example, if I pronounced something wrong or if I said the wrong thing I would practice and be extremely motivated to learn from those mistakes for the future. My family means so much to me and I would love to talk to them more with the language they correspond to the most. One thing I know I can improve on is trying not to overthink what I need to present. Therefore, I need to learn the appropriate words to say, but not overthink what I'm presenting and only take a quick second to think before I say. I try to learn from my mistakes with all the subjects I take, but Spanish slightly more because its something I care about deeply.
SECOND VIDEO REFLECTION
My initial expectations for this class was to slowly learn the necessities for Spanish. I thought we were gonna go slow and I had NO idea we were going to be performing our progress so much in class. I learned that performing helps a lot while learning Spanish. On a scale of 1-10, my enthusiasm for learning Spanish was a 10 because my whole family was excited for me to learn Spanish and I've always wanted to speak fluent Spanish or enough to make a formal conversation. So I had the enthusiasm from my whole family to motivate me. In this class Im looking forward to learn everything. It is one of my biggest goals in life to be able to speak to my mom fluently in her native language one day and be able to write in Spanish. A few improvements from my first video recording I noticed are
1. I am more comfortable when speaking in Spanish and I am frequently thinking about what I say before I speak.
3. I feel like I can now resolve quicker if my partner makes a mistake or either my partner or I dont know the answer. For example, if your partner doesn't know how to answer your question then you should answer it yourself to further explain what you're asking.
I can grow on trying to convey some emotion while speaking Spanish instead of asking questions in a very dull voice, and I need to master writing Spanish because I am always stuck on writing the right sentence starter. For example, when I see "¿Cuándo naciste?" I always have trouble trying to remember how to start the answer for that question. In order to communicate in Spanish with more ease I plan to practice with my parents a lot more, so I can have real practice with a person and I plan on studying every question and answer to make sure I can say it live with that emotional connection a normal conversation consists of.

THIRD VIDEO REFLECTION
I chose to work with my partner, Chris, because we were both interested in the same topic, music. We both wanted to focus on music because we both like the same band and we wanted to talk about what other bands we were interested in. Some strategies I used for practicing was practicing with my dad, so I was familiar with the script and what I was expected to ask and I read the script multiple times to get familiar with our topic. On a scale of 1-10 I feel like a 8 in a basic conversation because I understand the necessary words for a conversation and I believe I have the confidence to branch off into other topics. On the first day of class I remember being a 5 because I think I was very uncomfortable in a conversation and I did not have the confidence within myself to talk to others. I was very jittery in my first video and I believe I have grown from our 3 videos. I feel the strongest in pronunciation, vocabulary, and response time. I feel like I can grow in verb conjugations and feel more comfortable conjugating. My goals for the midterm exam is to have a short response time between questions and make the conversation flow. In my partnership I offer a short response time and I practice daily, so hopefully I can feel and come across very comfortable in the video.
