I was expecting a very busy day for Career Day because of the hectic hourly instructing classes that were scheduled. I thought this would include, song writing, recording, piano playing, warm ups, and several voice techniques being taught. I expected the professional world to be hectic and busy, but for my specific profession I feel like I had a connection to the students because I am interested in the same thing they are, music. I expected us to work with several students that will choose a song they want to sing and the instructor would be hitting on everything technique from posture, to breathing, to development of ear/body coordination, listening-focusing skills, stage presence, vocal range, register, resonance, diction, style, power, confidence, emotional expression and voice-care. I also expected for many students to be playing instruments while learning new vocal techniques/songwriting and I was right. Many played guitar, piano, and were extremely keen towards learning new things because of the engaging, motivational instructor Maria.
Overall, I think the instructing classes included everything I am interested in and I got to learn new skills including how to work around the music studio RAPA has to offer. It was amazing to see how interactive all the instructors/teachers are with their students and I expected all the teachers to be that before coming in. The professional world is something i'm eager to transition into, but I would need to get used to all the tasks this business has to offer and I would need to have enough credibility and experience for this creative and interactive job.
